Level 3: Moderate
Potential Tropical Cyclone One (PTC 1) made landfall this morning near southwest Florida with wind speeds of 40 MPH with wind gusts up to 60 MPH in some areas, moving quickly northeast across the state at 18 MPH.
The good news is that upper level wind shear and dry air infiltration never allowed the storm to form a cyclone, inhibiting any further intensification.
Largest threats at this time include heavy rains, flooding and gusty winds with a chance of isolated tornado activity. Some areas of South Florida have already seen 10+” of rainfall.
As PTC 1 leaves Florida this afternoon, some eastern Florida counties remain under a Tropical Storm Warning. FSBIT is standing by to provide immediate support to Members. Please report all property damages immediately to the FSBIT Hotline: 833.463.7248
